Trump called the migration crisis a weapon of mass destruction for the United States

The situation on the southern border of the United States could turn out to be a weapon of mass destruction for the country. This statement was made by former President of the United States Donald Trump on the social network Truth Social.

“Our border has become a weapon of our mass destruction,” he wrote.

This is how he spoke about the huge influx of illegal migrants, which the country’s government cannot cope with.

Trump also emphasized at a rally of supporters in Nevada that the United States is dying because of the situation at the border, and if we do not intervene urgently, a disaster will occur.

“Our country is dying. Our border is open. It's an open wound. This has never happened before.

Earlier in the day, the union of agents and employees of the American border service, amid a conflict between the leadership of Texas and federal authorities, said that the White House is doing everything to interfere with border security.

At the same time, Texas authorities reported that they had taken more than 102 thousand illegal migrants from their territory to other states. It is noted that this was done as part of Operation Lone Star, which began in 2022.

Before this, on January 26, US authorities demanded that the state of Texas allow federal agents to the section of the border with Mexico to dismantle the barriers installed by the state. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called Texas Governor Greg Abbott's actions to protect the southern American border unsafe. At the same time, the state's Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick said that Biden should “get out of the way” of Texas security forces and not interfere with their efforts to protect the border with Mexico. The politician noted that Texas welcomes any help from other states if it is properly organized.

On January 25, Republican governors from 25 states came out in support of Abbott and Texas' constitutional right to self-defense, accusing US President Joe Biden of being unwilling to protect American borders from illegal immigrants.

On January 12, the Texas National Guard denied US Federal Border Patrol agents access to a site on the border with Mexico. The Texas National Guard took control of Shelby Park in Eagle Pass, where Border Patrol agents were holding migrants before being transported. Texans are denying entry to federal employees and preventing them from performing their duties.
