Summer Discussions: How Businesses Can Retain Staff and Avoid Fines

In June, BRICS Mobility held two strategic discussions with government and business representatives. Their main goal was not to remind them about immigration reform, but to provide effective tools: how to transition to the new rules without losing staff, how to avoid new fines, and what to do today to prevent 2027 from becoming the year of personnel collapse.

What the Law Says. Analysis at the Presidential Property Management Department of the Russian Federation

BRICS Mobility experts, together with lawyers specializing in labor migration, thoroughly analyzed the bills that come into force on January 1, 2027. Participants learned about new requirements for employers, the financial implications of the transition to a registry model, and received practical recommendations on how to reduce the risk of administrative violations when registering migrants and how to prepare for the changes.

Dialogue with the Authorities in the Moscow Government

Following this, a roundtable discussion on the organized recruitment of foreign workers was held at the Moscow Government. Natalia Vershinina, Head of BRICS Mobility, served as a speaker. Representatives of the Moscow Prosecutor's Office, the legal community, and regional ombudsmen for the protection of entrepreneurs' rights participated in the discussion. Participants emphasized that the new system should become a service tool for businesses, not an additional mechanism for administrative pressure. Risks for small and medium-sized businesses, pilot projects for organized recruitment, and the practice of unscheduled inspections were discussed.
